Overview
Consolidation and strengthening of the process for drawing up the National Medium-Term Structural Budget Plan (MTPs), which replaced the National Reform Programme (PNR) and the Stability Programme (SP) from 2024 onwards. The government is responsible for drawing up the MTPs, through the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of the Presidency, whilst GPEARI and PLANAPP are responsible for coordinating its preparation.
Objectives
- Contribute to the public policy decision-making process throughout the public policy cycle;
- Ensure quality in decision support;
- Strengthen networking within the scope of REPLAN – Network of Planning and Prospective Services of the Public Administration.
Duration
The project began in May 2024 and will be developed continuously, with different activities carried out annually. In addition to the four-yearly submission of the MTPs to the European Commission, this planning instrument will be monitored on an annual basis by submitting the Annual Progress Reports in April of each year during its term.
